Texas PCB Expert in N. Ontario to Raise Alarm Bells about Bennett Incinerator

Dr. Neil Carman, a internationally-recognized expert in toxic waste incineration, will be in Northeast Ontario as part of the
growing fight against the Bennett incinerator.

Dr. Carman, a former incineration inspector, is based out of Austin, Texas. He has established a reputation across North
America for his expertise in dealing with the failings of incineration technology.

This will mark the second time Dr. Carman has come into the Northern Ontario region. He is concerned about the health
effects posed by the proposed Bennett dioxin incinerator. If licensed, the Bennett incinerator would be the biggest incinerator
of its kind in Canada. Bennett is looking to burn toxic materials from across North America.

Dr. Carman’s Itinerary:
Tuesday May 14
Meetings with concerned organizations in Rouyn-Noranda.

Wednesday May 15
Public meeting at Franchefco’s Restaurant (highway 11) New Liskeard, 7 p.m.

Thursday May 16
Public rally in Matheson
Floyd Hembruss Centre (Curling Club) Highway 11 Matheson 7:30 pm
Rally organized by concerned citizens of Matheson, Iroquois Falls and Cochrane.

To arrange an interview with Dr. Carman call the Public Concern Temiskaming office.
